For any person in charge of a big company site with lots of hits and the importance of keeping the integrity of links right, you have my respect and it's going to be part of the planning process when I ever upgrade again.

You know this is just a website, my own website which I work on from time to time in between the other projects I have because of my committment to DNN and the fact I love this technology.  However, you might have guessed by now I'm not a programmer, and at times rely on others to sort out the little hiccups.

Today was one of them, I looked at my logs and all of a sudden, saw so many links to pages that had been renamed or moved.  Alot from google, plenty bookmarked and my free skins page, well, it was pointing to the Log Viewer page.

How did this happen? I had a 2.03 >> 2.04 >> 2.1.2 installation. When I first created my site, the very first page I did was free skins.. and it was TabID 24.. On a new 2.1.2  installation, TabID 24 is in fact the Log Viewer page, so realised at that point I had to do a few things to get the links working and wasn't sure about how to do this.  Scott Willhite took the time to work through and showed me how to update the ID's bit time consuming, but nevertheless, caught most of them and now that means the integrity of most of the links remain the same. Thanks very much to Scott.  Learnt a couple of good tips today too.

And Nestor Sanchez (Hooliganes97) well, he really helped out in getting the members imported across correctly after sending me his visio diagram.  I had done a diagram in SQL, and imported 4 tables successfully, but couldn't get them to show up in the admin section on the site here, so I was missing just a little link, but he spent time showing me through the procedure and viola... all the members are here and intact.  Thanks Nestor, still don't know if I want to install Visio OK....

And those funky URLS on the domain.. Aren't they cool! I love them.  That was thanks to Anthony Glenwright from Inventua. He's also responsible for the Side Menu and a couple of other cool modules - I'll be reviewing his modules in my new Modules Review section next week.  I really appreciate it, like you wouldn't believe because it further shows how funky DNN can be when talented guys get together.

And then there's Anthony B.. doing some work on a help.exe for me, and it's brilliant.. it really is.  The fact you can do so much when you know how to code, simply amazes me and it will be available very soon.  I am excited about what he's done, it's a new dynamic help file that has some interesting and exciting features to it..

And Erik who so kindly told me how to fix up the broken links on the blogs, which I hadn't picked up.  I've not see such help before and it makes trying to break new ground and provide as much to the DNN community more inspiring.

It further instills the confidence I have that DotNetNuke will be one of those outstanding applications that has a long life ahead of it and I hope to be a contributor and enjoy the benefits for a long time to come.

I am running a day or two behind.. I lost my free skins pages, but now have them so will get those skins online tomorrow.

Thanks again.. And more information tomorrow.
