When someone at the end of a talk, by a developer presenting the talk about DotNetNuke comes up and asks you... “know any good developers?”  What's that telling you..

And if you wanted to be sold about DotNetNuke's capabilities, and you were a hosting company - visit http://sw-soft.com because they presented their PHP based model better and got a better response.. does DotNetNuke do what theirs does... only about 400% more and better..

Why do you think the Brisane and Sydney audience were non responsive.. because you don't talk about your developing skills, to a groups of hosting companies.  In the time this presentation was done, the following could have been done -

  • Unzipped, and installed a DotNetNuke site on the server
  • Talked about permissions and security while creating the DB and IIS reference
  • Shown how how the install process works
  • Logged into the new site
  • Applied a template in the wizard
  • Applied a new skin
  • Exported content
  • Imported Content
  • Copied modules
  • Installed a module
  • Uploaded a Skin
  • Showed the file manager
  • Created Security permissions
  • Created a child portal

That's what a hosting company wants to see.. there are times when you explain how the apple is made.. other times you just want to eat it... You still would have had 30 mins to talk about the modules and high tech stuff.. but you would have been inundated with questions, and not have to offer a prize for one.

One day if I feel brave I might post the real details.. but I don't want to rock the family boat - we all get wet! (says my father)

And the skins are bothering me today.  I installed some with errors and have to fix them. Will attempt to get more online tonight - but it will be worth it in the long run - thanks for your patience..

A somewhat.. disheartened ... DNN really is better than http://www.sw-soft.com.  Really it is..
