Wow, I finally thought the best way to present the skins, and think that single preview page is enough with screen shots in the zip file to indicate what they are like. It's quite a big job because I logged into the vault and noticed there have been some updates and wanted to compare them so that on the next release of DNN we're up to date.
So there's not much more to report apart from the fact I'm starting some new projects, and have now completed quite a few more, based on the fact they work well in 3.0.12 now. And I think with final releases it's good to be able to say the skins have been tested on all versions.
Once these are done, my skinstore will be launched and I anticipate that will be in the next week as we've been working overtime making sure the skins are up to date. This will be an online store with a bit of a difference. The free skins will always remain here, and as I add them, you still need to be registered here to pick them up, but at the very least, you will have the opportunity to purchase skins online and request modifications to them.
After the skins are done, you'll see some containers go online here, but I've not used any on my site because I have taken a fancy to the aggregator module by http://www.dnnstuff.com and like to use that and keep the pages as light as possible.
I will also be looking at the CSS menus that young Armand has been writing and also the Snapsis CSS tool to have some fun with menus that have been the bane of many a developer/skinning enthusiast for a long time. I think this release of DNN is a real winner.
In the coming week or two I'll post some very cool snapshots of some sites I'm working on including a mortgage portal - using a combination of simple html and dnn to make this fit the clients requirements. Upcoming project is a large logisitics company - spent money on a CMS but found DNN and they couldn't compete with the features. A few other projects in the pipeline that will be outlined soon but like to have confirmation before saying anything.
Then, I'll bring up the case studies concept again - I have 1 nearly done and 2 started that are worth talking about and explaining how they are using DotNetNuke to further their business.
Long days again trying to bring the free skins online and I'm sorry it's taking a bit longer, but I want them to be right and the snapsis ones aren't quite - they will let you log in as admin, but not as host.. and I don't know why.
I will be putting the skins online as they are done - so you can keep checking and seeing the updates, I'll fill the calendar out so it gives you an idea on what's going on, but the whole free skins section has been reshuffled.
That's it - thanks for dropping in!
