Well, the sites's live and no flash at the moment, and still shifting things around, but as promised, it was up on Valentines Day - 1 Year Birthday for DotNetNuke 2 and the beginning of the skinning and module world for better or for worse.
This is still a DNN 2 installation, but I don't mind, I've discovered and skinned some of the modules and thought of some cool ideas on how to keep people informed on what's going on by using the calendar.
Today was interesting in as much as I managed to import the users via SQL and DTS and happy now that not a person was lost.. I'll be culling the non authorised ones soon, as I prepare to get a newsletter out and get rocking with the content.
I know there are some empty/vacant pages and we're working through this, but again, being a 2.1.2 installation every single page has a manual Inventua module installed, with each page set to have the current tab as the menu to eliminate lots of links.
I was a bit annoyed to find that the widely publicised free skins link actually is now the LogView link.. GRRR.. so I thought I'd drop in a text html pane there, but no go, it was immediately place on the front page thank you very much, so will look at modding the db a bit to allow me to either move the tab or put in some html.
The chat module will be in shortly and available as a PA for those with a license already, and instructions on that.
Once 3 is launched, I'll do more work on that, but for now, busy getting the content in and then it's time to get the skin store released as I focus on more resources in reference to colour, techniques and dang good tools around to help you.
That's about it, will ask for comments on site once it's ready and willl have the new skins up very shortly -
Cheers and thanks for dropping in.
