Yep, that's about it.. I couldn't for the life of me work out why on earth I have two installations exactly the same - and what - NO STORE.. then it dawned on me.. I had installed a 3.0.11 version of Catalook on a 3.0.12 build... and then I downloaded the update, so I didn't download the full install.  I've never done this before but I think I wrote on blogs or forum somewhere, how excited I was that it upgraded perfectly.

Then, on the official site- the real one, what did I do.... I installed the bloody upgrade... oh GRRRR.... but didn't realise this - so I thought that's ok - I'll just import from one db to the other... tables, stored procs.. but no, it installed the whole bloody site... SHEEESH... so, drop that DB and start again, but not knowing that I had used the upgrade, decided to follow that same process again - we must try these things in case we forgot something..

So then, after it didn't work, I realised - I had the upgrade, so what do I do, download the full version and install that..  HMMM.. NO we can't do that..  So I had to delete every module individually, log into the db and kill off the last few tables and the store procs and start from scratch ...

Boootiful - finally got it right and it's going to rock!! I can't wait.. I really can't wait.

Today started on some new work.  Have emailed off other work to clients and got a few requests for skinning, which is strange, they sort of come in bursts.

I was happy to get the Snapsis free skin working and we've now got the system down like clockwork.  You'd think it finally happens.

Today was a bothersome, disjointed day - not sure if it was the weather, the temperature, the lack of sleep or the fact I felt like crapola when I woke up but Kirsty felt the same too I'm sure.. Yes, she was grumpy today too.  Which is not like her!! I know why - it's Catalook, we're mastering it.. but it's a bit tricky- found a couple of little bugs, however, http://www.dnnbeta.com has a good example of what you can do with it.. and I am happy with it overall.

I have been thinking of some new designs, layouts and how best to arrange them for users, many of whom I speak with who know very little about dnn, and need something that will look good and be easy to maintain.  Sometimes some of the skins require a little bit more careful maintenance.

Worked on the skin for the DNN forums - which incorporates the blogs/gallery/forum in one. Bit tricky but overall will be an excellent starting point. I've been working on making it look more like DNN and I know Chris has put in some mad hours putting all this together for the thousands of people who have already downloaded it.  I'll probably get some feedback on it and make further changes.  I think there might have to be some naming conventions taking place to provide people a way to skin it themselves later.  It's been a huge job implementing the forum into the core installation (as a separate download)

So, there you have it short and sweet and to the point.. I'm feeling a bit agitated - DNN will do that.. so will Catalook, but small successes along the way help motivating us here to keep persisiting.

Am testing Scott's Articles module on 3, have a copy of the DNNstuff tab aggregator and the realestate / auto listing module as well to try out.  I don't have time to really spend much time bug testing them, Kirsty does some of that but we're all getting excited about the new modules that are coming out.

Armand (Nokiko) has his new modules that are getting finished, but he's been kept busy with client work and of course, they pay the bills, so in the next few days I'll be getting my work done too to pay some of mine!

Catch you round..
