Ok a run down and I swear I need to have a couple of NON DNN days to get my whole life back into balance...

I did some quick and easy upgrades using 2.1.2 to 3.08 without any problems. These were just vanilla install, with only a couple of users and security roles, one or two bits of content and it upgraded well, so I thought I'm in for the long haul now - Afterall I only started doing this from 27th December with great enthusiasm and each bug fix brought everything closer to the desired result.

And now, it's 2am - Sunday morning and for the moment - I've taken on the self imposed nickname of Nina and her 99 Installs.

Believe it or not, I'm not a fiddler of code - when things work, I'm happy, have had a few problems over the last month or two with modules and site performances and it's just been compounded by extra traffic and a particualar module that is consistently throwing errors in the log file. I am looking at removing this.

So, *sigh*.. somewhat disheartened, a bit frustrated, and feeling cheated for my time, and feeling sad because I was so excited about this and feeling a bit bad thinking that I've created enthusiasm when I shouldn't have... but I do promise this - alot of these last minute problems have been just that - because you can't test something  until it's ready.

And it didn't go too smoothly, hence, 3.08 isn't a RC (Release Candidate) but a Beta version - And the reason it's still beta is because the update doesn't behave like it should.

That being the case, I am also very happy to say that I can take a few moments to gather some more energy and just do my skinning work again, and get my sites finished and the resources site will be going ahead in dnn2.  I had held back and held back thinking that 3 would be the way to go, but it will happen, and when it's ready, I will be too.

I've got some ideas for my site to combine a newsletter/feature/forum section and will have a dedicated forum for skinning with the abililty use graphics to show fixes/examples.  It will be a DNN2 Based forum, mabye Tams, TTT company which is about 65% skinned to cool blended dnn forum.

So, *sigh*.. a bit let down on New Years Day - partially because of the world occurances, and partially because of my own disappointments and hope that I can spend more time imparting some knowledge and wish you all the very best for 2005.

I know I said I would have the skinning chm file up, but I worked on my upgrade to 3, which I then decided this afternoon, not to continue until it's more stable - For a first install it's great, for a site that runs thirdparty modules on virtually every single page, I'll wait thanks.

I've checked the files for the skinning doc, they appear to be correct for 2.1.2, and will release that, then update with the 3.08 updates.

Thanks to you all for giving me inspiration.. Your kind comments and support really make a difference.
