Man the days, weeks, months go by fast when you're working on projects. I decided that it was time to upgrade the original DNNSkins website which was released back around October 2003 with the initial DNN2 skins added to the site. Over time, as I had time, I'd check and install the skins on another site which was DNN4, and then I had to bite the bullet - I really wanted to get some consistency in the free skins I had and found there wasn't really anywhere you could preview and download these skins. It's taken the best part of three months to get these right, and I know, I know, when you compare DNN to other CMS apps like Joomla, Plone, Mambo, etc, there are many more, but this is all I could muster up, but still, I think there is a good mix of skins to start with. Each one has a preview, and has been tested on DNN 4.5. For something different, I've used the Catalook cart for the previews and downloads. You can log in and add the skins to the cart, go to the checkout and then they will appear on your downloads page. I wanted to test how Catalook handles the gallery/catalogue behaviour, based on what I'd read, as I've got some people asking if they can use Catalook as an online catalogue with no prices, and later, turn the pricing on, so why not give it a try. The skins range from my own free skins, through to skins from the original skinning competition back in 2004, and other skins that were part of the original site which have been fixed up and tweaked to work nicer than they did. Anyway - - although it seems as though not much has happened in the blog arena, but you can't always be in so many places at once. I will have some announcements on other cool projects for the DNN community as they come to hand, but wanted to share this new site since I've not had a chance to send out my newsletter yet. Why not drop in to http://www.dnnskins.com and if you're an XD subscriber or a DNNskins subscriber, you'll have to request a new password to be resent to your existing email and you'll get immediate access to this great range of free skins.
